SoundLab is a programme creating Centres for Creative Music Making.
The vision is to create a space for young people to be creative in their music making, open to all, seeking diversity in musical genre; pathway to music; instruments; vocal styles and culture. Removing the barriers to enable all who wish to engage the opportunity to do so.
The Learning and Participation Team at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, have designed and lead on the programme. It is generously supported by Signatur with three years of funding (2018-21), and additional financial support and resources from our partners.
SoundLab is led by:
Richard Shrewsbury, Head of Learning
Claire Marshall, SoundLab Coordinator
George Kirkham, SoundLab Ensemble Leader
